Should the swastika symbol be banned in post war era by national laws

Question While the use of the swastika in Nazi Germany was undoubtedly insidious, the role it played as a symbol in supporting and maintaining legal authority is not unusual in legal systems. As a result of this, and other positive associations of the symbol, the swastika itself should not be banned from display by national laws in the postNazi era.

Drawing on your studies of Block 3A and other research that you undertake, explore and critically evaluate the role of the swastika as a symbol in the Third Reich with reference to the role of symbols in other legal systems, and examine the arguments for and against banning its display by law. You should analyse the statement above and, having examined the arguments, arrive at a reasoned conclusion about whether you agree with it or not.
